How It Started

Built for the desk,
the walk,
the long pour-over.

KETTLEKNIT grew out of a frustration most creative workers know well: the clothes that fit your work life don't fit the rest of it. The hoodie that gets you through a six-hour sprint doesn't belong at a gallery opening. The jacket you wear to a client meeting wilts the moment you want to sit cross-legged on a café floor.

We started small — a handful of unisex beanies and a single lambskin peacoat. Every piece uses certified organic materials: cotton, wool blends, and natural fibers sourced from mills that treat process and product as the same single thing. Nothing neon. Nothing synthetic.

The result is a wardrobe that moves with you — from standing desk to street, without announcing itself.

Each garment is cut and sewn in small runs. We work with the same three mills we started with. Lead times are longer because the right fabric takes time to source — and we think that is worth saying plainly.

The Craft

Made slowly.
On purpose.

Organic from the source

Every fiber we use is certified organic cotton or natural wool blend. No synthetic base layers, no petroleum-derived finishes. The certifying body is GOTS — the same standard used by the mills that supply Patagonia and Eileen Fisher. We mention them not to compare, but because specifics matter more than general claims.

Small-run construction

We produce 60 to 120 units per style per season. That number is not a marketing story about scarcity — it is the actual capacity of the atelier we work with. Each seam is inspected by the same people who cut the panels. Pieces occasionally sell out. We restock when the next run is finished, not before.

Unisex from the pattern

Every pattern starts from a single unisex block — not a women's fit with extra room, or a men's cut with a smaller label. The silhouettes are designed to layer, to sit well over other pieces, and to not announce a body type before a personality.

Hoodies &
Peacoats

The lambskin peacoat is the piece we built the brand around — full unisex cut, natural horn buttons, zero synthetic lining. The hoodie is its quieter counterpart: 400gsm French terry, double-stitched cuffs, kangaroo pocket sized for a paperback or a laptop brick.

From the Community

"I wear the peacoat to standups, to farmers markets, to late-night deploys. It doesn't look out of place anywhere."

Mara S. — Senior engineer, Brooklyn NY

"Bought the beanie in October. I've washed it maybe twelve times. It still fits the same."

Dani K. — UX designer, Portland OR

"The sweatsuit is the most practical expensive thing I own. I say expensive because nothing I've bought at the same price has lasted longer."
